Seacare Scheme Reforms – Consultation Regulation Impact Statement

Seacare is a national workers’ compensation and work health and safety scheme for a defined section of the Australian maritime industry.

The Australian Government is proposing reforms to the Seacare scheme consistent with the recommendations of the review of the scheme by
Mr Robin Stewart-Crompton in 2012-13.

The proposed reforms will clarify the coverage of the Seacare scheme, modernise and improve the scheme’s workers’ compensation and work health and safety arrangements and provide more efficient and effective governance arrangements for the scheme.

The Government has released a Consultation Regulation Impact Statement outlining the proposed reforms. Interested parties are invited to provide feedback on the proposed reforms. For further information please contact the Department of Employment at
