Managing Relocation Assistance to Take Up a Job for Short-term Agricultural Work

Relocation Assistance to Take Up a Job (RATTUAJ) provides financial assistance to long-term unemployed job seekers and other designated Participants to relocate to take up ongoing, full time work, and can help Employers attract staff outside their local area. 
In the 2020–21 Budget, the Government announced the More Relocation Support for Agricultural Workers measure. This measure temporarily modifies RATTUAJ to support short-term Agricultural Work for RATTUAJ Placements commencing between 1 November 2020 and 31 December 2021. RATTUAJ Participants who temporarily relocate to take up short term Agricultural Work of at least six weeks may be assisted with temporary relocation costs of up to $6,000 (GST exclusive).  
This Guideline sets out Providers’ obligations in relation to managing RATTUAJ Payments for eligible Participants who relocate to take up short-term Agricultural Work. In relation to managing RATTUAJ Payments for Participants who are relocating to take up ongoing, full time work, Providers must refer to the Managing Relocation Assistance to Take Up a Job Guideline.
