1. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Yes

What occupations should be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) to the MLTSSL.

223112 Recruitment Consultant

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

I manage a team of IT Recruitment consultants and currently have a need for 2 more to cope with the amount of work we receive from our clients.

These clients include a number of major Australian institutions across banking, financial and telecoms, manufacturing and retail.

2 members of the team came to Australia on 457 sponsored visas over 10 years ago.

It is currently on the STSOL and should definitely not be removed

There simply is not a sufficient volume of experienced Australian Recruiters in the market and most Recruitment Companies can ill afford to create unrealistic wage inflation through competition – something which will occur if Recruitment Consultant is removed from the STSOL. This in turn will mean that fees will need to increase. Unless of course there is a reciprocal plan in place to return all the Australian Recruiters from overseas, which would assist in levelling the playing field.

3. Do you consider that occupations need to be removed from the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSSL) or the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)?
