Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the STSOL.

Please refer to the research and evidence provided in the attached letter from employers.

In addition, although the Occupation Air Transport Professionals NEC (ANZSCO Code 231199) is currently eligible for RSMS 187DE visa pathway, this is not suitable for the occupation of the Balloonists due to

a) Age restriction being 45, whereas the average age of an experienced Balloonist is 48

b) RSMS 187 visa provides pathway only to permanent residency visa, which is not always suitable for Balloonists who often are employed on a temporary basis. Permanent pathway can’t be substitute to fill in genuinely temporary need for Balloonists in Australia, as it was suggested by DIBP

c) With changes to RSMS skilled list to be implemented in March 2018, even a permanent RSMS pathway will cease, therefore it is critical that the occupation of Air Transport Professionals NEC is added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skilled List (MLTSSL) in January 2018.

3. Do you consider that occupations need to be removed from the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSSL) or the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)?

No
