1. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Yes

What occupations should be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) to the MLTSSL.

223211 ICT Trainer
224711 Management Consultant
231212 Ship's Engineer
231215 Marine Surveyor
232411 Graphic Designer
132511 Research and Development Manager
133411 Manufacturer
133512 Production Manager (Manufacturing)
133513 Production Manager (Mining)

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

The skills like Research and Development Manager, Production Managers, Management Consultant, Ship's Engineer, Marine Surveyor and Graphic Designer are based upon our opinion that these are high-end skills and need to be in MLTSSL, particularly for employers who want to attract overseas employers for 457 Visas. The new projects and developments in defense and associated industries require many more such skills to be added to the list.
ICT Skills would remain attractive in the future although there seems to be more supply then demand. But to make sure there are enough trainers in Australia to train and nurture local talent, ICT Trainers should be put in MLTSSL.
Manufacturers bring skills which would create more jobs in Australia than most of the other skills.

2. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)?

Yes

What occupations do you recommend should be added to the STSOL?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved be moved from the MLTSSL to the STSOL.

223311 Training and Development Professional
242112 University Tutor
149914 Financial Institution Branch Manager

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the STSOL.

Finding trained Tutors for tertiary level is a challenge in Regional Areas. The position is same in case of Branch Managers and Training professionals.

3. Do you consider that occupations need to be removed from the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSSL) or the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)?

No
