Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

people2people recruitment pty limited (p2p) became a business sponsor in 2011 in response to the increase in volume of recruitment business & the inability to secure the employment of experienced locally based recruitment consultants. The UK recruitment industry in particular, has been established for a considerably longer period of time than that of Australia’s. Of p2p’s 75 staff, 10 are employed under the 457 visa scheme. In over 6 years being a SBS employment sponsor, we have not had any compliance issues. Given the time & expense of hiring an employee who requires a 457 sponsorship, p2p must comply with a rigorous set of criteria for our internal recruitment processes to justify the expense & collation of the comprehensive amount of information required for each application. It should be noted that p2p has had a graduate recruitment program in place since trading commenced in 2005. This is of vital importance to our business, but the competition for these local Australian graduates (& not just within the recruitment industry) together with the lead time and opportunity cost of training them over the course of a 3 year period, necessitates our requirement to also supplement our experienced workforce with those experienced recruitment consultants requiring 457 visa sponsorship. The candidate talent pool is limited & therefore just does not have enough experienced, qualified & employable recruitment consultants to satisfy the high demand of a highly competitive & ‘booming’ recruitment industry. The ANZSCO data being used to substantiate this decision is not reflective of current market conditions. p2p is currently actively seeking to recruit at least 10 recruitment vacancies, in 5 offices. If the removal of the Recruitment Consultant position were to proceed, there will be an impact on the quality & the quantity of the participants in the recruitment industry.Governments in Australia, be they local, state or federal, use the services of the recruitment industry.
