1. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Yes

What occupations should be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) to the MLTSSL.

223112 Recruitment Consultant

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

Recruitment consultants assist Australia workers and Australian companies work together and grow their careers and businesses for the benefit of the Australian economy. Ajilon always seeks local talent first but often finds it impossible to source suitably skilled and experienced local Recruitment Consultants and has to resort to hiring Consultants who are one 457 or other short term work visas. While this works for the short term, the ability of these people of gain permanent residence provides resilience and sustainable business growth for Ajilon - and for its clients which are Australian employers. The placement of Recruitment Consultants on the STSOL with no path to PR undermines our efforts so they should be placed on the MLTSSL and offered a path to PR if they meet all other qualifications. They make a substantial contribution to Australian economic growth, international competitiveness and National success
