Yes

What occupations should be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) to the MLTSSL.

223112 Recruitment Consultant

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

A majority of the recruitment industry in Australia are migrants who have come over either with relevant background in HR, Sales, Marketing, Account Management etc, or years of recruitment knowledge and experience from their country of origin. The industry has benefitted from the experience and knowledge of international 457 applicants who have increased the fill rate of other, hard to source, positions, with candidates both locally and internationally. The recruitment industry is a multi-billion dollar industry that is integral to the continued development and upward drive of Australia's strong economic position. With the knowledge and support of international 457 visa holders, Australia's markets can be supported through tough hiring processes by experts who have a global reach, in depth knowledge and detailed training both here in country and abroad. If this occupation were removed, the industry would suffer heavily; lack of experts in specialised fields moving over, disruptive hiring processes for internal and external recruitment teams with no new blood forming stagnant movement within the market - this all has knock on effects. Some of these include producing hiring shortages across a range of industries, and increased problems with length of recruitment times growing exponentially, and lowering the successful placement of well suited candidates to roles - this is a highly disruptive potential shortcoming that will ripple it's effects across every single corner of Australia's developing markets and potentially threaten it's upward trajectory in the future.
