1. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Yes

What occupations should be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) to the MLTSSL.

223112 Recruitment Consultant

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

This is a professional service which requires hard work and dedication and I know both of my employers (Recruitment businesses) have struggled to find good talent for their businesses. Taking Recruitment Consultants off the list will reduce the pool of talent they have access to even further. I also don't understand why anyone would be motivated to work in Australia on a STSOL Visa whereby they have no chance of permanent residency at the end of their time in Australia. We pay taxes, make friends and spend money in to the economy. We build a life here and the new restrictions mean we may have to leave and start all over again somewhere else or our home country.

My previous employer had my position vacant for over 18 months before they hired me. Their last option was to hire an overseas worker on a 457 visa as they couldn't find the talent in the Australian market.

2. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)?

No

3. Do you consider that occupations need to be removed from the Medium and Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSSL) or the Short Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)?

No
