1. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Yes

What occupations should be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) to the MLTSSL.

223112 Recruitment Consultant

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

There is currently a skills shortage throughout Australia for recruitment consultants and has been for many years. Not only for people with experience but also people wanting to get into recruitment. If there is not an opportunity to sponsor and keep recruiters in Australia if they are from overseas, we will continue to have this shortage and this will in turn become a negative impact to all businesses that they service in recruiting new staff. Almost all companies rely on recruiters and if there is a lack of consultants this will mean more time to hire for businesses, time without a job filled and wrong people being hired among other problems, which will essentially lead to businesses losing money.
