1. Do you consider that occupations need to be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Yes

What occupations should be added to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)?

Please also include occupations that you propose should be moved from the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) to the MLTSSL.

223112 Recruitment Consultant

Please outline the evidence or data that would support these occupations being added to the MLTSSL.

I run a recruitment company thats hires recruitment consultants for the recruitment industry. It is absolutely absurd that recruitment consultant be taken off the list of skills. We are an industry that promotes jobs, places people into tax paying roles and without the ability to sponsor overseas applicants, will cause an enormous problem for the entire industry. We constantly look to source recruiters from the local market, and it is simply impossible. Impossible.

Should recruitment consultant be removed from the sponsorship list, then it will inevitably result is tens of thousands of people loosing out on job possibilities, and Agencies across Australia loosing out on business and I am certain, will end up closing their doors, retrenching what ever local staff they have.

It boogles the mind that government bodies can make this sweeping statement, without having any idea of the practicalities of our industry. A disgrace.
